Together with my husband Carlo I live on Bonaire for a while now, close to the resort.
After the Corona period I sold my company and our beautiful canal apartment and left Amsterdam. We fell for Bonaire because of the marvellous bright light and coulours, and for the water world, but especially because of the simplicity and small scale, cosiness. Perhaps the imperfection and low grade of organization that a zen-atmosphere prevails over the island, which makes me feel good and grateful.
Time stood still here and life is running a little slower in every way. After a hectic period with a fast-growing own company in the Netherlands, this is something completely different, a new phase of life and no early retirement.
I love making houses beautiful and cozy, decorating and also doing odd jobs such as painting, washing and ironing. I don't drive a car myself and do everything by bike.
I also enjoy cooking, reading and almost every day I take a long walk and swim in the sea for half an hour, and a few times a week I can be found in the gym - Bon Bida, right next to the resort - to maintain my health.
I myself ensure that everything in the house functions properly, and arrange the check-in and check-out, and if something is not right, you can contact me and we will solve it. No intermediary offices in between and more 'spirit' in the home like many holiday homes where the owner lives a great distance away. Our guests indicate that they also experience it that way.
